i'll call 'em takeover tea leaves. vice president joe biden saying the president is exploring executive orders to combat gun violence to, essentially, confiscate guns. the second amendment be damned. the same president we're told now considering executive actions to enact climate change measures, those opposed be damned. and timely to this whole debt debate going on in washington, the same president who supported saying the constitution allows him to raise the debt ceiling on his own, again, congress be damned. add it up, i'm telling you, barack obama is doubling down. and here's the kicker. with plenty of compliant democrats in congress to help. but those democrats might regret what they're aiding and abetting, because they're the ones who'll be fumbling and fuming. when nancy pelosi pushes the 14th amendment to give the power to bypass congress, she is giving him the power to bypass her too. you don't need a trillion dollar magic coin to realize this is nothing less than a high stakes power grab. now, it's not unusual for presidents of either party to try. it is very unusual

. joe biden meeting house democrats, laying out the measures the white house wants with or without congress. reportedly there are 19 executive actions for the president to impose, unilaterally. issue an executive order in congress is bypassed. they reportedly include universal background checks, banning high capacity magazine chips and an assault weapons ban, all of that is possible. that's the federal level. at the state level, new york has already moved. a bill is expected to pass today that is being called the toughest gun control law in the country. the proposals call for tougher assault weapons ban and restrictions of sales on guns and ammunition and yes, tougher background checks, all of this appears to be in favor with a small majority of voters. a new washington post, abc news poll, shows 52% more likely to back some kind of gun control after the shootings in newtown, connecticut. a lot of people still agree with the n.r.a. another poll shows 55% shows armed guards in schools. 42% oppose that. president obama will unveil his full recommendations on gun can control later thi

seat. good afternoon, everybody. let me begin by thanking vice president joe biden for your dedication to this issue, for bringing so many different voices to the table because while reducing gun violence is a complicated challenge, protecting our children from harm shouldn't be a divisive one. over the month since the tragedy in newtown, we have heard from so many and obviously none have affected us more than the families of those gorgeous children and their teachers and guardians who were lost and so we are grateful to all of you for taking time to be here and recognizing that we honor their memories in part by doing everything we can to prevent this from happening again. we also heard from some unexpected people, in particular i started getting a lot of letters from kids. four of them are here today. brand fritz, juliet stokes, and teja goode. these are some pretty smart letters from some pretty smart young people. a third grader -- you can wait, that is you. she road i feel terrible for the parents who lost their children. i love my country and i want everybody to be happy and safe
